Job Title: Procurement Officer
Reports to: Procurement Manager or Supply Chain Manager
Location: Lekki Phase I, Lagos State
Salary: ₦150,000 Monthly
Job Summary
We are looking for a Procurement Officer to join our team in Lekki Phase I, Lagos. In this role you will source and procure goods, services and works in a timely and cost effective manner while ensuring compliance to organizational policies and regulations. Your ability to identify reliable suppliers, negotiate good contracts and manage procurement processes will be key to our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, vendors and contractors.
- Research and maintain an updated database of suppliers for various categories of goods and services.
- Procurement Planning:
- Develop procurement plans that align to the organization’s needs and objectives.
- Work with other departments to understand their procurement requirements.
- Tendering and Bidding:
- Manage transparent tendering and bidding processes to ensure fairness and competition.
- Review bids and proposals to select the best supplier based on quality, cost and delivery timelines.
- Contract Management:
- Draft, negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, vendors and contractors.
- Ensure all agreements comply with organizational policies and laws.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or disputes promptly.
- Cost Analysis:
- Conduct cost analysis to identify cost savings without compromising quality.
- Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers to get the best value for the organization.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply to organizational policies, industry regulations and laws.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts and supplier evaluations for audit purposes.
Required Skills
To do this job successfully you must have:
- Procurement Knowledge:
- Good understanding of procurement principles, practices and regulations.
- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze complex data to make informed decisions.
- Communication Skills:
- Good verbal and written communication skills for negotiation and stakeholder engagement.

- Time Management:
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Education & Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- National Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
- Certifications (Desirable):
- Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is an added advantage.
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience in procurement or related field.
Working Conditions
- Office Environment:
- Office based but may require occasional travel to meet suppliers or attend procurement events.
- Standard Hours:
- Standard hours but may require overtime or flexible scheduling based on project demands.
- Collaboration:
- You will work with stakeholders across various departments and external suppliers to achieve procurement objectives.
- Immediate Resumption Required:
- Candidates must be available for immediate resumption upon selection.
